Review on CeraVe Baby Lotion - Gentle Baby Skin Care with Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides - Paraben-Free and Fragrance-Free - 8 oz - Packaging May Vary by Steven Boyd

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Smooth surface; The ingredients on the product page are incorrect

I use it for my face and body! It doesn't throw me out and doesn't contain any irritants. Moisturizes moderately but not heavily. If you're looking for a heavy, creamy moisturizer, this one doesn't have that texture. I bought the "kids version" of the Cerave moisturizers because they are paraben-free (too much controversy about parabens and too many incomplete studies so I decided to avoid them if possible until more research is done on the subject became). The only reason I get a one star rating is because most of the skin-friendly ingredients (like niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, etc.) are labeled after the preservative "phenoxyethanol". Phenoxyethanol is only allowed in mixtures with a concentration of 1% -2% (and no more). Because the ingredients in the products are listed in descending order from highest to lowest concentration, most skin-friendly ingredients are present at levels below 1%-2%. The ingredient listing is inaccurate as "phenoxyethanol" is nowhere on the list. This is misleading and could give the impression that the concentration of skin-friendly ingredients is higher than it actually is. However, this is a good lotion. It's not greasy, but very dry skin can lack moisture. Because it has a nice finish, I use it as a day lotion over serum and under sunscreen and makeup. I use a separate lotion at night as I like my night lotion to be richer and packed with more skin repairing ingredients. Hope that helps!
