Review on πŸ”‘ Logitech Craft Wireless Keyboard with Input Dial & Backlit Keys, Dark Grey & Aluminum - Advanced Creative Tool by Bai Dang Thi ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The price/quality ratio is great, I will buy again.

I am not aware of other wireless keyboards that simultaneously: - equipped with backlight; - equipped with a proximity sensor; - equipped with a light sensor; - can work so long; - support work with three devices, including via Bluetooth; - have regular size keys, including normal arrow keys; - have low keys with a very quiet, short and clear stroke; - made in such a minimalist design and so high quality; - Russified; - suitable for working with both Windows and MacOS (they have the corresponding designations on some keys). If you are ready to give 200 bucks for this - you can safely take it. Even bypassing the question of a not very useful wheel. It is clear that this is a luxury item rather than a really necessary one. As part of my professional duties, I have to type texts on the keyboard every day. Lots and lots of text. After using the Logitech Craft for three months, I am absolutely delighted, despite the price.

Pros
  • 1. Excellent build quality. 2. Nice minimalistic design, narrow edges and very low height. 3. Excellent quality of the key mechanism - pressing is clear, the stroke is very small. Printing is very pleasant, it can be done accurately and quickly. 4. Normal backlight, not blinding the user. You can adjust its intensity, you can force it on / off. 5. Built-in light sensor, by default automatically activates the backlight if the room is dark enough. 6. Built-in proximity sensor. You raise your hands - the backlight lights up smoothly, very cool and comfortable. You remove your hands - the backlight goes out after 3-4 seconds. 7. Ability to work with three wireless devices at the same time. In this case, each of the 3 potential devices can be either a wireless transmitter (similar to the complete one) or any Bluetooth device. For example, a smartphone. The following scenarios appear: - SMS-message came to the phone; - press the switch button on the smartphone on the keyboard; - write a response SMS-message from the keyboard; - press the switch button back to the first device and continue to work at the computer. 8. Battery. It, taking into account the included backlight and when using the keyboard for 5 hours a day, is enough for a week and a half. When the charge approaches zero, a corresponding message is displayed on the screen. Charging time with 2A adapter is about 2 hours, you can charge the keyboard and use it at the same time. 9. Weight. He is unexpectedly large, almost a kilogram; the keyboard does not move on the table. 10. Serviceability. Turned off the keyboard, wiped it with a rag, turned it on. The keys are not high, the dust is wiped off just fine, in 3 seconds. 11. Wheel, the most controversial issue. It was made very nicely, it can turn smoothly or in discrete positions - this is done mechanically, a gear starts to click inside. Plus, the wheel is pressed and reacts to the touch of the upper part. It is convenient to use, but only for adjusting the sound and in Photoshop / Lightroom.
Cons
  • 1. Wheel. For software from the Microsoft Office package is not suitable categorically. 2. Software that provides wheel support. It should be written by the manufacturers of the software itself, and the manufacturers are somehow in no hurry to produce this very software (more precisely, plug-ins for their applications). In terms of specific functions, photoshop / illustrator / indesign, word / excel / power point, vlc are supported. You cannot change the wheel functions predefined by the developer for these applications. For other applications, a number of rather useless actions can be assigned to turning the wheel. In fact, if you are not a designer and do not work with the above Adobe products, the wheel will be useless for you. 3. Legs. By themselves, they are normal, flat, rubber, but there is no leg in the middle of the keyboard under the battery, so in this place it immediately begins to scratch on the table. 4. 1 year warranty. At $200 cost, yeah.
