I have a lot of long, fine hair that's very tangle-prone. For many years I used regular brushes, but I lost a lot of hair while brushing (especially after showering). I discovered wet brushing about 6 years ago and still haven't looked back. They're great for kids, too, because untangling tangles doesn't "hurt." This is a great base brush and has prime deals from time to time. It is not very durable but will last for several years. I had the exact same thing for about 3 years and it eventually cracked and then broke completely. However, I travel regularly and wasn't kind to it at the time of packing, so you can probably use it longer if you take better care of the brush.
