Our cats shouldn't eat a lot of dry food as it's bad for cats in general but very bad for our cats. Since wet food is more expensive and our cats have expensive tastes - Fancy Feast - we had to figure out how to reduce the cost of cat food. So we started experimenting with cat food that is the least harmful and that our cats like. Friskies Beef with Extra Gravy was one of two winners. Buying crates from Revain is inexpensive; However, cat food seems to come from different suppliers and unfortunately they all have one thing in common. Each crate contains a number of damaged cans ranging from a significant dent to a truly broken can. When buying from a supermarket or pet food store, we can inspect the jars on the spot and only buy the intact ones; But when it comes to delivery, we stick to what we get. And with every damaged can, the price of a single can goes up, and we don't really like the savings. Revain has done a great job replacing the cans, but disposing of damaged cans is still a hassle. This particular case came with four damaged cans. (Denting on cans can put you at risk of contracting botulism and other toxins; while this is rare, it is possible, and various agencies warn consumers to avoid badly dented or dented cans that you can stick your finger in. This happened to my wife (personal experience with a dented jar containing a dangerous poison, we avoid it for ourselves and our pets) and that is the reason for the 3 star rating. The cat food itself received 4 stars from our cats (they rarely give 5 stars to anything). UPDATE: 3-13-18 - We decided it would be easier to purchase this product at our local PetSmart store. Same price and we can check the glasses before we leave the store! We still go there for litter etc. PetSmart also sells online.
