Great alternative to buying the entire cable assembly! Took me a little over 15 minutes to install this. On a 98 Civic, remove the kick panel (Simply held on with 2 clips). Use a 10MM socket to remove the bracket. You have to remove a portion of the plastic shaft leftover from the old handle that was broken off. I chose to use a small copper pipe cutter to do this. You can use whatever is handy. Slide off the old portion, and slide the new on. Tighten the set screw and put it all back together. Simple! A note of caution, some people say that they stripped the set screw. Be careful of that! I have a habit of over tightening things and stripping them. I just snugged it down. In case it loosens up, I just tossed the little allen wrench (came with handle) in the console storage area. If it loosens up, I'll just tighten it back up.
