Also replaced APC SmartUPs 1500 with this one. The price is a little cheaper and the box is a little lighter. No complaints about this backup in terms of server backup power. Switches to battery with no problems. Same backup time as APC. I've had issues with the APC SMT1500 where the local utility fluctuated too much, the APC would restart or shut down. APC had us reconfigure the device to be less sensitive, and then it worked. Only 2 complaints about Tripp Lite: 1) It doesn't have an on-screen interface like the APC device. APC displayed the load percentage and battery charge. You have to read the manual to find out what the indicators mean. Same features as APC, if you know what the indicators mean. 2) It only has 6 outlets while APC has 8.
