I bought this to put in my 95 year old mother's bedroom. She likes to get up in the middle of the night to have a drink. After she "got lost" on her way from the kitchen to her bedroom one night, I decided to leave a small refrigerator in her bedroom. We've had it for about 2 months, we've used it every night and we're very happy with it. I turn it off during the day instead of leaving it on when she doesn't need it. It doesn't really get cold, but it would probably get colder if I left it on all the time. This will keep your late night drink cold enough, but if you want to keep something at a certain temperature, I think you need to keep it "on" all the time. We haven't used the "Hot" function yet. I am very happy with her as she gives me peace of mind that my mother won't have to leave her room in the middle of the night. It definitely works effectively for my needs. It arrived well packaged and on time. Check the measurements so you know exactly what the capacitance is.
