I bought this collar to train my dog better. I also have a spiked collar but wanted a thick pad to use before resorting to a spiked one. The results are AMAZING. The thick pad puts even pressure on her neck and the width gives me peace of mind that she won't hurt herself and I won't hurt her. We are currently working on free walking on the leash and the dog's response and in 2 days she has shown more improvement than months with a professional dog trainer who has vowed to use a martingale collar for training. For any trainer or dog owner looking to work on training their dog this is a great investment and I would highly recommend it. As a plus, I like the reflective stitching for night time outings as they add an extra safety feature; Mesh padding is good in summer; and the turquoise collar looks beautiful on my dog hair.
