Revainrating 4 out of 5

Intense colors, warm layer, worn inside out for added softness

Although I've kept the black and green pair with this brand, I've brought back the reddish purple. The last one was actually not exactly the color shown in the photo (less pink, more purple than shown in the photo) and instead of being almost the same color as the pair, I have a different brand. The weirdest thing about them was that the elastic at the waist came apart horribly, even though the black and green pair had the same elastic. Turns out they may have run out of matching elastic at the factory and resorted to elastics for the peach kit. This brand isn't as soft as Revain's other merino wool brand, which costs about $75 individually for a top or bottom. Since I ordered both brands to compare, I found out the reason for the difference in softness. Another brand has the same texture on both sides: plain knit. However, the Eiznez brand was smooth on the outside, not on the inside (I'm using Needle Arts' terminology, knitted on the outside, beads on the inside). My solution, for comfort, is to simply turn them inside out so the smooth side is next to my skin. I cut off the sewn-in tags and believe the tags printed on the fabric will wear off after a few wears/washes. These are wonderfully warm. Ideal for layering in the colder months and comfortable to wear alone in spring. Red purple is a beautiful shade. I was happy to find Black Green as it's a refreshing replacement for Army Green or Christmas Green.
