Camera turned on perfectly, no problems. I had three issues that frustrated me enough to return. First, there is no manual or even a web address link to the user manual. I had to google myself. Second, the WiFi password was not reset to factory default. I contacted them and they told me I just need to find the serial number. I was advised on how to do it but didn't go because my serial number was highlighted on mine (annoyed at the moment). They tell me that I can fix this problem by inserting the SD card and then inserting the SD card into the computer because the serial number is automatically printed on the card. OK, I'll play with you. Don't do anything on the SD card at all. I go back to google and find recommended SD cards for this model. So I'll go and buy another SD card specifically for this camera, according to the GoPro website. I don't have $50 for SD cards right now. Get a GoPro recommended new SD card. Plug it in as I was told, take it to your computer after recording some quick videos just to make sure the serial number is printed on the card. Guess what? There's nothing on the map at all. Says it's empty. The trial is officially over. Went to the GoPro website and only paid $50 for a new current series GoPro that comes with a free SD card. A much better option as this camera could never work as a real camera recording. In short, if you're just buying this camera for the looks and don't care about ever seeing what you're shooting, it doesn't matter if you can connect to the GoPro app because you can't get a serial number, then it does this the right camera for you! If you want this to work I recommend going elsewhere!
