My child is almost 5 years old and we have the same plates since she learned to hold solid food and eat by herself. These plates suffered a lot as my wife and I also used them to be inclusive. Unfortunately, these cymbals are finished and that's why we chose these cymbals. To be honest I wish they were my first. They have deeper sections (which helps reduce "spillage") and the panels feel very strong. Being me I decided to test one of them and throw it VERY hard Frisbee style against a stone wall. This plate now has a small scratch (ooh!), but that's about it. So far no real damage from forks, knives, scraping spoons, really hot food etc. The only damage is my pretty stupid idea of throwing it against a stone wall. the daughter has passed the "baby" stage and demands that we eat from ordinary plates. While this will be a bittersweet day for me, it does mean these cymbals have likely withstood a lot of abuse.
