It's gray but not as gray as I thought it would be. The dark charcoal has a subtle color shift that shines on it like a muted version of an oil slick. When I shot with flash, the images lit up like crazy! I didn't notice this glow with the naked eye, only in the pictures. Maybe it goes too fast, or maybe I was too close to get a good look, but either way it's a really cool bag. It's also a good size, accommodating my wallet, phone, Kindle (included in 5th and 6th pics for a sense of scale) and other random stuff, but at a fraction of the cost. Excellent purchase.
