My 7 year old daughter had a really hard time learning to skate and in a few days (just 4 or 5 hours) she fell about 50 times while shuffling around . Then she came and said that the clip had torn off one of the knee pads. She falls often (she never gives up when she's trying to study), but I figured that's what pads are for: to fall. I improvised to secure it with velcro but it's uncomfortable and the thread snaps and flaps in the wind even after I trim the excess. They protect her from hits, so I guess they're doing their job? Also, the bands will scratch a little on bare skin if you misalign them, but that's the case with most pads. The company might respond. I will update this if necessary.
