Review on Armacost Lighting 774200 LED Lighting Cable 20-Gauge – Multi, 26ft by Matthew Kocur

This 2 core round white PVC jacketed cable is required to connect LED strip sections to other light strip sections and a driver transformer. While a lighter 20 or 22 gauge cable may work, I've always found it advisable to increase at least one standard wire size beyond the minimum. This makes it easy to add additional lights to the circuit in the future if needed. Armacost Lighting is a respected brand in the LED strip industry. I have already installed one of their lighting kits and am preparing to install additional LED strips for countertop lighting under the cabinets at the bottom of the upper cabinets and floor side LED strips at the bottom of the lower cabinets. The Armacost 574180 18AWG cable is exactly what I need for this. The Armacost cable is called "ribbon" in the product description, but it is not a ribbon cable and it is also not a flat cable. It's round, which makes me happy. Round cables are easier to route and hide under cabinets and around equipment. Cable clamps can easily fix the round cable to the bottom of the cabinets. The 1 quart package that comes with the Armacost cable contains 8 meters, 26¼ feet, of 18 AWG wire. The cable has two wires of different colors, one is black and the other is red. These are the standard colors of the low voltage cables that make connecting the light strips easy and safe. Red is used for the positive pole and black for the negative pole. The wires are twisted. For my LED strip wiring project, I chose to wire the Armacost cable to the 2-pin LED headers. These connectors are specially made for connecting wires to LED strips. The Armacost 574180 cable is the best cable for low voltage projects. You can't go wrong choosing it for LED strip installation.
