I surprised my roommate by filling her room with balloons. 8 hours (active balloon time; total time frame about 22 hours including sleep, grocery trip, and making cupcakes), 400 balloons (wished there were more purple in mine, could’ve been fewer pink).Only 2/3rds of the bag got used because I ran out of time. In a relatively small room, they came up just over 5 ft.I would not recommend blowing up and tying off 400+ balloons by hand on your own, but I committed to the act.Tips: Take frequent breaks, lots of water, stretch, breathe. I found that you can only go so fast and/or for so long at a time. Chapstick is a must (and even so my lips were sore for a day). Find something to help tie the balloons off so as to not destroy your fingers (I maneuvered a mini binder clip), but still you’ll need moisturizer/lotion. Fence off areas so there’s less volume to fill, and also so they don’t escape out the door (I used blankets, chairs, taped cling film). Use large balloons such as these, you’ll need fewer and it goes quicker. Lastly, you kind of get used to the powder and scent, but it will accumulate on your clothes (washes out fine).Only 3 popped in the process, plus another few defective, but overall mostly good.However we then unleashed them and moved them to our other roommates’ rooms and a dozen+ popped in the process - perhaps caught something on the floor (not friction because see were able to wade through them in her room).After a week, they’re mostly still inflated, but will occasionally (once a day) pop at random times (keeps us on our toes!), but only ones in the living room, not bedrooms?Overall, good thickness and value. They’re not necessarily difficult to inflate, and if I were to fill a room again, I’d go for these. I cannot comment on using helium because I’ve yet to try.
