The Cat's Outta The Bag - Tugboat Rated SturdiBag 5 Stars

Traveling with a cat who had nowhere but short trips to the vet was quite an adventure. This bag was a big help. Likes: - This pocket gave him a lot of privacy while still allowing for good ventilation. Cats don't want the whole world to see them when they're nervous, so it was nice to be able to open a side or top vent and velcro open when needed. The sturdibag is MUCH better than other totes that I've had handle options on. The shoulder strap is easy to adjust and the rubberized pad is articulated but stays where you put it and won't slide off your shoulder when the pet moves. The carry handle was perfect for grabbing when boarding the plane and then helping him slide under and out of the seat. The fabric and mesh inserts are very well made. Unless your cat is a pro at it and loves her carrier, she will try to get out at least once. (Clip your cat's nails before you ride!) It never caught on, and he's certainly tried more than once. - The small zipper at the top is convenient to put your hand in if needed without opening the big hole enough to let the cat out of the bag. This isn't an entrance, it's a "Here's a treat for a kitty" opening. This bag has a short (maybe 18-20 inch?) leash harness in the bag that attaches to your pet's harness or collar. Having an escape master is a definite bonus. My cat didn't want to run away so I zipped it to the airport until we got through security and then unzipped it. The leash is long enough for your pet to stand up and turn around. The bag comes with a very soft, comfortable pad. The sibling cats slept in this carrier prior to intended use (ie what a great bed!) but I highly recommend removing it for longer trips. It should be replaced with a backing sheet that absorbs all liquids if the pet has an accident. Our trip was 12 hours and he didn't have any, but don't expect that! (I bought two but the Dry Fur - Small 2 Pack was my favorite as they have a solid base and can be stacked on top of each other. If you have an accident, pull one out and throw it away. They suck up A LOT .--This bag is mostly waterproof and washable. We found that on a not-so-dry visit to the vet when there was an accident on the way home.Hence the above advice on liners.) will absorb some of any accident, that could happen to your pet, but you don't want your furry baby sitting in THIS on a long drive. -- You may see comments about the cardboard/foam base. It is its own sleeve UNDER the compartment where the pet sits. After the accident that happened to me, there was no leak. I'm not saying it could never happen, but it hasn't happened to me. I think you can order extra ones from SturdiBag so I don't mind (remove that foam before washing of course). They have something like cardboard or cardboard. The flexibility of this carrier is unique. This carrier looks HUGE and when you get it you'll think "this will never fit". But it is so. It was overkill for my Frontier flights, but the fact that it could flex and slide under different seats was perfect. By the way, it fits front to back. What I don't like or what could be improved: - Pockets. There is only one small pocket (half of the back end). I traveled with my pet's medical records and his insulin in a cooler, along with some food and a collapsible water bowl. Because airlines only allow two pieces of hand luggage and one cat. All of my extras had to be stuffed into a roll-up bag that hung over my head. complete pain It would be great to add some extra pockets. - Offer. It would be nice if there was a way to give that side "sleeve" that slides over the reel bag shell so it can sit down without slipping off. apex. This bag is large and although light, with a 13+ lb cat (not fat but gigantic) it got quite heavy on long haul flights across 3 airports.
