Details. This headlight is perfect for my 2005 Silverado 2500HD. The gasket is quite thick and the screw seals also fit well. The key (as with anything) is preparation. Unless you plan to clean a niche on your truck, no amount of gasket will cover the hole. My cab sheet metal is in like-new condition, so it took me a few minutes to completely remove the old dirt and caulk. Sealant is not required and I have a factory airtight seal. As for the brightness, it's also very nice. If I wanted a blowtorch I would buy it. I can't speak for Luddites who expect miracles, but the brightness of this device is much higher than that of a factory incandescent lamp. The headlights in the cargo area are nice and bright too, so you can safely ignore the whiners who want their precious world to be perfect. All in all, no regrets - buy with confidence.
