Thick steel, stable when unfolded, easy to assemble. Winner!
This lift comes mostly pre assembled and requires little to no instruction. I attached the base directly to the floor (wood and carpet) with 6 large screws and 2 additional screws in the pre-drilled vertical holes about halfway. The device is made of fairly thick steel, which increases the weight. for its soft, floating effect. It can lift the TV amazingly high and remain absolutely stable. The general stability is excellent. It took two people to lift the resulting box and it was easy to see why. This is a good TV at a good price.
