mug capacity is good. A can of Chunky Soup with a net weight of 18.8 ounces on the label fits inside. The outer dimensions of the soup glass are 3-1/8 inches in diameter and 5 inches high. This comes out to about 18 fl oz when you subtract the rim at the top and bottom of the can and the thickness of the can walls. This capacity was tested using a measuring cup to check the volume of the vessel. The soup was heated in the microwave to a comfortable temperature. The lid opened and closed without too much trouble, although there was a noticeable difference in performance when the cup and lid were warm. The lid is also discolored on the underside where there has been some contact between the lid and the soup. The discoloration will not come off. The ventilation works well. The mug is easy to clean. As already mentioned, the lid retains some stains, otherwise it can be washed normally.
