The boots look very sturdy and durable. It goes high enough that snow doesn't get in unless you intentionally pour in snow and water. There is an inner shell which my kid described as comfortable. It can be easily removed for cleaning. They're a little heavier. And they look huge. My child wears a youth size 3. The boots at first seem impossible for a size 3, but once we took out the inner shell and put them on together the size was acceptable. Therefore I find the outer shoe just too big for the thick inner layer. In general, the shoe is very bulky and inflexible on the outside. These aren't my ideal shoes for kids, but there aren't many options this year. Considering that Columbia is a good brand and the price is no higher than other lesser known brands on the market, let's leave them. I hope its features outweigh the bulky look. The boots look great together, by the way. They're just huge, like a kid wearing an oversized pair in them.
