Review on πŸ• Blue Chef Pomodoro Dough Proofing Box - 14 x 11-Inch Household Pizza Dough Tray Kit: Fits 4-6 Dough Balls by Jeff Richardson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product but overpriced

I need a pizza dough proofer for a multi-day fermentation and have narrowed my choices down to two products: (1) Chef Pomodoro Proofer (this product) 14" (width) x 11" (d) x 3" (height). ). (2) DoughMate Artisan Dough Kit https://www.amazon.com/DoughMate-Artisan-Dough-Tray-Kit/dp/B00449IEM417.75"wx13"dx3.25"h(height of a tray with lid; comes with two trays 7" tall. I chose the Chef Pomodoro for two reasons: (1) slightly smaller size (fits better in my fridge) (2) snap lid idea (hopefully airtight) After seeing the Chef Proofing Box Pomodoro received and used for several weeks Overall satisfied:--the product is not as strong as I had hoped. For domestic use it is acceptable but the plastic is definitely not commercial. It is Polypropylene but I would like one thicker plastic.--the lid is NOT airtight. Although there are clasps on two ends, the product is long enough that it doesn't seal completely on the other two sides. Two seas They don't let much air through, but clasps on all four sides would be better Design. After three days of fermentation of the pizza doughb Γ€llchen, the skin dough balls dried out a bit. In the future I will definitely brush the dough balls with butter. Given the competition, I think this product should cost around $30 instead of its current price of $40. The product works well enough for my home use and I am generally satisfied.

Pros
  • βœ… BULK Up to 4-6 pizza sized balls of dough on thin 12-14 inch diameter dough. The food-safe Chef Pomodoro Dough Box with Lid measures 14" x 11" x 3" - large enough to comfortably fit fully-risen dough without touching the lid.
