Review on Sangean WR 22WL Bluetooth Table Top Receiver by Shannon Reynolds

Revainrating 5 out of 5

NOT SUITABLE FOR MY PURPOSE

I purchased this radio through Revain Prime in February 2016 but Revain does not seem to consider me a verified buyer. GOOD: Keeps time well. FM reception is normal. The sound quality is suitable for my non-musician ears. There's a feature that lets you repeatedly press a small bright orange bar and the radio will turn off after your chosen time. I like it. It is attractive in appearance, heavy and strong. I think the reviewers praising the looks of home machines must be the same people wearing tight black jeans and those oversized glasses and buying takeout at Whole Foods. I thought I'd mention the aesthetics of this car to them. They can stare happily at their heavy black radio and look forward to 5pm when they head home and unbutton their skinny jeans (ugh!) while eating a full pound of their own brand cheddar cheese and a large box of Ritz. Crackers with Dr. pepper or two. There are a few things that really bother me about this radio. the channels you have programmed will be deleted. You have to reset them all and the process is a bit cumbersome and I have to relearn it every time. I have more important things to do when the time comes. 2) I only bought this thing to have as a radio at the head of my bed so I could just reach out and turn on the radio and change stations just by pressing the buttons. When I do this, I'm usually in a semi-conscious state. I either wake up in the middle of the night and try to get back to sleep (NPR sermons usually make me sleepy), or I try to wake up in the morning and listen to the radio while I look around and think out where I am. I don't use it as an alarm clock, but there are quite a few little buttons and protrusions that are easy to accidentally press. This causes some sort of alarm clock or sleep monitor to go off while I'm lying in bed, barely ready to get up. Or, worse, after I stumble into the kitchen trying to make coffee without getting burned and hear the alarm buzzing in the bedroom. So I turn off the alarm, but I see small icons on its front. something that could mean that the alarm will go off in the very near future. You don't want to hear me grumbling as I sit on the edge of the bed reading the owner's manual to see if I really turned off the alarm. I think I could highlight the pages in the manual that tell you how to disable all alarms. , but I kept a yellow marker at the head of my bed for years. I don't remember how to disable all alarms from time to time. The problem is that when it deactivates, I'm semi-conscious or scalded with hot coffee. I could only vaguely remember important things like the location of the bathroom at the time. I tried using black tape to cover the alarm handles but I still pushed the handles through the tape. I decide whether to tape off the alarm clock buttons or stop whining and buy another radio. I'm open to suggestions for a new radio.
