I have another Aqua Quest backpack, Aqua Quest Riparia Waterproof Backpack 45L Dry Bag. This is an amazing backpack and I will no doubt be equally pleased with the performance of the Aqua Quest Spindrift. The Spindrift is a lightweight bag perfect for a small person or someone who wants to carry something light. It's a whopping 1.9 pounds, but it can support 10 times its own weight. Of course, that's just a guess, but it's probably not far from the truth. Of course, I wouldn't take the Spindrift on a walkthrough because it's too small. However, it is perfect for a day hike or even a bike ride. An interesting fact about the Aqua Quest is that this backpack comes with a lifetime guarantee. Can't get much better unless you're LL Bean, but even they have a limited guarantee now. The inside of the backpack is not very soft, but this is not a gaming backpack. This is the one I'll be loaded with gear, nothing fragile. The only fragile item I might take with me is my three-piece solar charger, which attaches to the outside with a carabiner. Like its counterpart, the Riparia, a top-of-the-line backpack, gear included. The buckles and sliders are made of durable plastic and a front zipper is made of metal. The zipper itself is synthetic but coated with polyurethane to prevent water from entering the bag. The back of the backpack is densely padded with mesh for breathability. It doesn't have a central core like the Riparia, but it's not the kind of bag that needs one. It is light and I will not carry a very heavy load. The backpack is made of 420D ripstop nylon with TUPU and PU coating. It's not exactly waterproof, but it's pretty close. I left it in damp, rainy weather and the contents were dry. Be realistic, you can't expect your contents to be dry if you lose them overboard in a lake. When I settled on the Spindrift I felt it was fairly well balanced and easy to adjust. Padded shoulder straps gently taper down in a crescent shape for added comfort. On the back, just above the shoulder straps, is a grab handle sewn from 3/4" chiseled sewn-in nylon. The waist straps are soft, not too much, but just enough to provide the balance and comfort you that I desire. I just need balance for my load and with the strap adjuster I got it. The shoulder straps can be adjusted from the bottom on either side of the pack. I would say the Spindrift could handle a decent weight if you wanted to, but I appreciate it for its lightweight features.Overall this is a great waterproof backpack that ticks all the boxes I was looking for.It has definitely performed well in rainy wet weather and is a great backpack for hikers, campers, survivalists and survivors.
