I bought it specifically for storing coffee beans. I received 32 ounces. Canister because I buy 32 ounces. Bag of coffee beans. The description says it holds 32 ounces of LIQUID - that's more important as I understand it. And again, my inattention to school math and physics rears its ugly head. This canister cannot hold about 32 oz. coffee beans, and I don't think it will hold 32 ounces. ground coffee. The big problem is the dual cap system - there's a clear plastic cap with a rubber seal on top and a nifty black inner cap that pushes down to bleed air from the canister. This system works very well, but remember that using both caps will lose about an inch of canister space. how many coffee beans can you store in it ie it holds 10 oz. whole coffee beans or 20 oz. ground coffee. It would be a courtesy for those of us with math problems. However, this is a good can. I have Candy Apple Red and the color is amazing. Unfortunately, it scratches easily and already had a few scratches when unpacking it. It has a nice rubber bottom so it doesn't slide on the table. The inner lid is easy to use, but you have to be careful to squeeze it evenly or you could end up with a crooked lid and side gap. The outer plastic cover is nice, has a good grip and good padding for a snug fit. Overall this is a good canister and looks like it will help keep my coffee beans fresh. I find it a bit too expensive to be honest. It cost around $22 and is far less than practical for what it's advertised as. I wish the manufacturer would provide a better way to illustrate how much the can actually holds - for an additional $5 I could get 64 oz. canister and that would be a better deal.
