My daughters are not getting the fine, wavy hair that we expected when we bought these nylon bands. However, they don't last either (After an hour of play, she has to redo her hair - though I don't tie it up (Note: I only do about 3 passes, I could do another one, but then I'm pretty sure that I would pull her hair.) I've tried them on my hair with maybe a bit more success (I have 3A curly hair that is very fine/thin).The hold is a little better.I think the curls help with the hold better However, on my hair, it still pulls the hair out, but definitely not as tight as regular elastics, so that's a plus.
