Review on Diesel On Men's Fadelight Gen 4: A Stylish Smartwatch with Heart Rate, GPS, Contactless Pay, and Smartphone Notifications by Dustin Woodrow

Update: The watch's plastic case broke after just 7 months!

Last update: This will be my last update for this watch because I'm fed up with it. We do NOT recommend the Diesel brand. They have horrible software and the quality of the watch is poor because they are so cheaply made (at least that PLASTIC style of course). My husband only had this watch for 7 months and the cheap plastic case with the smart dial broke. and the dial fell off. This is a very cheap and poor design. The dial is the most important (and most expensive) part of the watch. One would think that more effort was put into the design to prevent the dial from falling out. Maybe it would be much better to make it out of metal instead of cheap plastic. The plastic has cracked in half just above the dial. Now my husband has a weird pocket watch because he tried to glue it together but it's in a weak spot and won't hold. Update: My husband is not happy with this watch. The app showing unwanted notifications (which you can't seem to get rid of) isn't Google. This is from real diesel settings. We tried turning off the diesel thing, but then the clock won't do anything. My husband is already tired of messing with him. Smartwatches shouldn't be this annoying. Diesel watches give out random notifications that are just silly (often weird) phrases/messages. Looks like market fortune cookies. It's annoying because when my husband gets a notification, it has to be a call, text, or email. NOT a funny diesel post. These messages also drain your battery as they stay on the screen until you swipe them. This is very uncomfortable for my husband. He got this watch because he works in a clean room. He got dressed and thought this watch would come in handy to see he had messages and stuff while he was in a clean room. It's useless to him because he can't waste his time looking at Diesel's useless (constantly broadcast) messages. His watch literally spams him. These messages might be ok if there was a way to turn them off, but trying this basically turns everything else off. We do NOT recommend Diesel smartwatches. The settings/software there are terrible and annoying. We don't need SPAM from our watches! Original Review: I ordered this smartwatch for my husband. The clean group is a bit younger/teenage oriented, but my husband doesn't seem to mind too much. The strap is easy enough to replace if he so desires. The transparent part around the dial makes it easy to match the strap with any color/style you want. Unfortunately, this part is made of plastic. The watch comes in a neat box shaped box and has a couple of booklets with instructions. Now to the watch itself. The man seems to like it very much. Agree, this is his first smartwatch, but it's still pretty decent. They arrived almost fully charged, but he used the included charger to fully charge them before first use. The charger plugs into a USB port and the watch just sits on top. Once the watch charged (which was quick), my husband set it up and synced it to his Samsung S9 (Android) phone. It seemed pretty easy. My husband had a little trouble mopping at first, but then he got the hang of it. The background of the watch face can be changed. There are several built-in options to choose from. My husband can now get notifications from apps and email on his watch. It can also use certain apps from Google Play Store like calculator, compass and more. This watch can measure heart rate, distance/speed, etc. He is currently using them to camp with our 2 older 2 teenagers. My husband hasn't had any issues so far and he definitely loves this watch, plus it looks cool.

Pros
  • Heart rate and activity tracking, built-in GPS for distance measurement, waterproof design. Receive notifications and alerts from your smartphone, manage your calendar, control your music, download 3rd party apps and customize your watch face.
Cons
  • Expensive
