Very pleasant material. Like grandma's old cotton sheets! They are not as soft as they could be with a lower TC. But who doesn't know that they get softer with use and with every wash, while still retaining that old-fashioned crunch. I bought several other sets of sheets advertised as 1200 TC but they were very thin. The higher the number of threads, the heavier they should be. And the "percale" sheet means the weave is denser which means they last and can be washed for years. Most people have no idea what all of this terminology means when it comes to sheets and bedding. Google the difference so you can then determine what you are getting and not what you should be getting when buying sheets. I personally love old fashioned sheets that may not be as soft but are crisp and cool. It doesn't mean prickly. But when I crawl under the sheets, I want to feel the weight, like the sheets I had as a kid or when I went to my grandmother's. My mother still has old sheets that she still uses today. You're probably 40 years old or older and still going strong. They have horrible colors and patterns but they are so good!
