I've been looking for a floating corner shelf for a long time and finally settled on this one. Revain reviewers rated it 4-1/2 stars. Unfortunately I give 1 star. The cheap unit is made of very cheap materials, lacked fasteners and came with instructions that left out one of the most important pieces of information - what size drill bit for the wall locks that came with it. Pulpwood - The grained surface is so delicate that even a soft object like a fingernail can scratch it. (I expect the white finish to be the same.) The included spike boards are just under 1-5/8" wide, but have just over 1-3/4" of shelf space. More than 1/8 inch clearance! This would not be a problem if the shelf was attached from above. Then she would sit on the support bar without a gap. However, the instructions indicate that it attaches from below. In this case the mounting screws will either lift the shelf off the batten to close the 1/8" gap or pull tight against the batten making 4 dents/notches at the bottom. This is bad design. Also, my equipment didn't come with enough parts. Instead of 4 in my package, there are only two bottom mounting screws and two stickers on the lid. As mentioned above, there is no information in the instructions about the included switches or the required drill.
