The test print was a total mess. I went to maintenance and tried to get him to check the printhead. The paper was immediately jammed and had to be removed. I removed the paper as instructed and now the printer fails to self test to even start. It prompts me to restart the printer and contact support if the problem persists. There is no online solution for this and they don't work weekends to call. Let's see what happens when I have time and opportunity to call her. If you buy this product, don't expect a flawless start. Edit: I emailed Epson as per their instructions and they replied that I need to call them about the matter. They informed me that in case of repair/replacement they will send me an equivalent device which may be the same model. In addition, it can be renovated. Come to think of it, I could buy a brand new printer that never worked just to get a refurbished printer for the same price. However, the headache was free. Edit 2: I was on the phone with an employee. They've hired me to speak to a higher-level tech within the next 24 hours. I asked for a specific date but they didn't give me. So on Tuesday I have to be at home next to my computer and printer all day to talk. Edit 3: 24 hours later no call. I decided to call her and listen to Shaq repeat the same two lines over and over while I waited on the line. The rep made me follow the same steps that caused the error in the first place, error again. My options are: 1. Let them keep my card for the cost of a new printer. They will send one and then wait for me to send it back. Once they confirm they have the broken one I can keep my money. 2. Send this printer, please wait. If you have it please allow 10 business days to receive my printer without delay. I am contacting Revain to return the printer now. Edit 4: Revain's customer service is slightly better. I was able to either get my money back or have the printer replaced within a week. I had already used Epson 812 ink for work and didn't want to bother trying to return it, so I told Revain to send me another WF-7840 and we'd roll the dice again. And this one works. It prints reasonably well, and the starter cartridges contain a lot more ink than other reviewers say. I have printed several hundred working papers in ledger format and the black sheet is only half blank. Now the problem lies in the automatic document feeder. I draw things on paper and scan them in batches. The thing always gets stuck. This is awful because some of these documents can take several hours of work, and now I'm pulling them out of the bowels of this printer by the edges. He regularly grabs 2-4 pages at a time and sends them through the scanner. I don't know which is worse if my sides get stuck or if it does a few scans of the top and doesn't chirp. I won't know until I do an audit and count how much I even gave him. Not the best working printer. I'll give him another star, at least he's typing now.
