I'm surprised at the positive feedback. When our hangover comes out everything is fine, but when he comes back the damper stays in the open position. We live in the country so I don't like going to the back door in the morning and the door is wide open. It's only a matter of time before an unwanted creature (snake, rat, raccoon, etc.) visits us. I've been waiting for him to weaken for three weeks, but not yet. I'm hesitant to spray silicone because it attracts dirt/dust. If the lid closed I would easily give this product 4 or 5 stars but for now I can only give it 1 star. The seal falls off in just three weeks. It's very cheap. Pay a few euros more and get a quality product.
