Review on IVAPPON Nylon Sport Watch Strap with Hook Loop Fastening - 18mm 20mm Black Blue Watchband by Doug Destruction

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good quality velcro tape

These are pretty good, relatively comfortable straps. The main inside of the strap is 25mm in all sizes and is well finished to avoid chafing (unlike some other Revain straps). Next you need to choose the width of the outer loop that you will thread behind the spring bars of the watch. Due to the buckle at the end of this strap, you will need to remove the existing spring bars and reattach them over the top of the strap. Squeezing the strap into the gap between the lugs by tucking the spring bar back in can be a little awkward. I am currently using the 18mm version on my Casio G-Shock DW-5600 and it works great. G-Shocks typically have 16mm lugs, but the 18mm nylon mesh easily fits in between. The 25mm main band looks great on a square G-Shock watch. Believe it or not, the ridiculously small Casio F-91W and its many siblings also look good on the 18mm version of this strap (F-94WA here). It looks like it's built into the strap. Two lengths are available which determine how much of the Velcro flap hangs down between the end of the 25mm inner strap and the buckle. If your wrist is less than 7 inches, the long strap will not fit your wrist snugly because the velcro is sewn almost to the edge of the inner strap. Which brings me to one of the downsides of this strap: the Velcro strap has sharp edges that dig into your wrist in that protruding area. I was able to smooth out these edges with 300 grit sandpaper, which helped a lot. What helps the most is choosing a size that minimizes this overhang. I have a 7 inch wrist and seem to be right in between sizes depending on what watch I wear on it. I use the "regular" length on the F-91W and the "long" length on the G-Shock (which barely tightens). The version with the steel buckle grips the velcro strap on the sides more firmly than the plastic one. Buckle. This makes it easier to put on the watch when the flap is already threaded through the loop. The plastic buckle "occupies" a little more velcro than the steel buckle.

Pros
  • The width of the tape is 18 mm. Please note that the width of this strap is listed on the side of the buckle and not the side adjacent to the skin (Fig. 6)
Cons
  • Nervous
