Ok, I bought this cable to connect another monitor to my gaming computer. I hooked everything up to a working monitor and nothing happened. I have no signal at all. I started looking around and figured I need to buy a new cable somewhere else. But I finally got it! If you are using Windows 10, there is a bug in the system that prevents DP from working properly. There is no permanent solution yet, and it doesn't happen to everyone. HOWEVER I got mine working after one simple step. KEEP the computer on and the cable connected to the monitor. Disconnect the power adapter from the back of the monitor. Leave it on for 2 minutes. Plug it back in and turn it on. Go to "Windows Display Settings" and click "Detect". VOILA! You should now see the second monitor. Unfortunately, due to new Windows updates, you may have to do this every time you start your computer. It's not the cable that's bad, it's affected by Windows Update. Windows is aware of the situation but hasn't released a fix yet. the bad thing is it is affected by windows update.
