Bought 2 of these as proof of concept to use for hiking and camping with friends and for backup trailer communications with my wife. Worked well with an effective range of over a mile. Small and easy to clip to clothing etc we found them great for communicating with other people when camping etc. The only complaints are that the directions/instructions are very limited and although the battery life was very good the battery gauge ended up being as good as it got such useless of them (after not charging for a few days) the battery simply ran out, although the battery indicator recently showed good battery life remaining. So charge regularly and you will be happy.
