When they were announced a few weeks ago I bought a set of 6 lamps to use them in. I'm not new to Lifx and have about 40 of their BR30s, Z Strips and mini bulbs around the house. Always easy to set up. I've been using Lifx for 3 or 4 years (and believe me, when I first got them, they were a lot harder to set up than they are now. They've improved the in-app install process). However they arrived today and no matter how I tried to set them up (since I do NOT use and don't have an Apple Home Kit) all they wanted to do was install with the Apple Home Kit (maybe because I use the Apple Home Kit) . iPhone to set it up). I have Alexa devices and Google Home devices all over my house and I'm just saying to turn on the family room, living room, etc. These bulbs will NOT turn on no matter what I try. Reset them a few times while flashing red, green, and blue, then stopping at white. So go back. Also, my lights now have LED glass bulbs with small yellow LED filaments. The keyword is GLASS pears. Not only are these new Lifx bulbs made out of cheap plastic, but they also have a terribly huge white base, which makes them an eyesore when used in a chandelier with bulbs that aren't hidden by the lampshade. The quality of the cheap plastic reminds me of the plastic LED bulbs I bought in multi packs from Costco a few years ago and then threw away when I bought the glass LED candelabra bulbs I currently use. I love Lifx bulbs but these new ones suck. And there is no phone number to contact Lifx customer service. They want you to send an email for help. Not for me. My advice to Lifx is to take them off the shelves and remake them.
