Review on Capturing Moments with Precision: Olympus Stylus SP-100EE IHS 16 MP Digital Camera by Donna Harvey

This is the fourth Olympus camera I have bought over the years because I love the earlier models and their features and of course the lifespan of each camera and of course I liked the photos very much I could take them with me. I was a bit worried about this model when I read reviews that said it didn't have a macro setting. It absolutely has a super macro setting. I actually have a photo of a flower with an ant crawling over it, which you can see very well. I have some beautiful close up shots of butterflies that were so close I could see their eyes. I took some nice photos of fireworks and more. So far I think the biggest problem is with the feature I really wanted, the "Eagle Eye" dot sight. I found this not working as expected. I wrote to customer service who did essentially nothing except send me a manual. I've watched a few YouTube videos trying to figure this out, but so far I've mostly gotten a blank screen or a photo of something that contains everything but the subject. and I have been a photographer for a long time and have even worked professionally in the past. Another problem with that. is that if you follow the instructions, you must 1. compose the image. 2. Adjust the scope so that it is on the subject and the subject and focus point are displayed on the LCD screen. 3. Press the shutter - but first try changing the setting to take more than one shot in a row. Well, I hate to say it, but when photographing birds in flight, sporting events or any other subject, there is usually not enough time to go through this process before the moment is lost. Tried and missed quite a few birds, even airplanes, BMX bike and skateboard shows, hot air balloon shows, even an event with some celebrities. Previously it was easier to just use the viewfinder, put it in sport mode and get as much as possible. but i will keep trying. I also find the menu settings difficult. It's not easy to remember in which submenu the panorama taken and the like is located, and so again the moment you do without it. I'm also not impressed with the editing tools. On my latest Olympus (model SP-565UZ) the crop function was easier and you could adjust the color of the photo, which is not possible with this camera. It's also larger than expected, although the upside is that the zoom function is much longer. I love that you can adjust wide/telephoto either with the shutter button or on the left side of the body, as I'm left-handed. I love that you can customize the range and the idea behind it is good but as I said I'm having issues and Olympus customer service hasn't been helpful. Unfortunately, the battery life does not match the one specified by the manufacturer. Luckily I bought two extra batteries and they are really needed because I'm lucky to get 50-60 shots with a full battery. I used to get more with four AA batteries on my previous model. I also bought a Toshiba flash card thinking it would be easier to transfer it from the camera to my phone or to my computer or even to someone else's phone near me. That often doesn't work, and again I don't know if it's a camera or a memory card, and again the whole support team sent a bunch of instructions that didn't help much. In general, the camera is fine. but given the choice I would probably just refurbish my old camera or maybe finally switch manufacturers. I might post some photos later to illustrate what I'm writing about, but I need time to pull out the flash drive, connect it to the computer, download the photos, and then post them - or figure out how to get them consistently Flash drive to work over WiFi. At least you no longer need a special odd-shaped card that only fits Olympus cameras. On the
