After a month of use it appears to be a reliable product. However, I have complaints. You cannot set any of the custom heart rate zones above 100%. Why could this be a problem? Because not all of us train with "maximum heart rateβ. I train with Friel's Threshold Heart Rate (LTHR). Friel uses seven heart rate zones: 90% to 93% LTHRZone4: 94% to 99% LTHRZone5a: 100% to 102% LTHRZone5b: 103% to 106% LTHRZone5c: >106% LTHRTimex would have gotten a more flexible product if you switched your product from 5 fixed heart rate zones (50%-60%; 60%-70%, 70%-80%, 80%-90%, 90%-100%) + 2 customizable zones into one with 7 configurable zones (5 with default settings that mimic the current fixed zones) and allow zones to be set above 100%. Also, the calories burned is nice little nonsense with a minimum value other than the flag for Mickey Marketeers. ;-) Also, it's a good product that will definitely add value to your workout. Updated 2/17/2016: It's still working 12 months later and is used an average of 3 times a week on an indoor exercise bike. As others have mentioned, it would be great if it logged times in each of the HR zones, but it doesn't; something I knew before buying. Still, I find HRM very useful on my indoor trainer. I keep my target zone at user level: 163-173 bpm. When I move from one Friel zone to another, say from 143-155 to 156-162, I just hit the lap counter. This allows me to fix the time in each zone. At the end of the practice, I check each lap and enter the Excel spreadsheet. So for an indoor trainer, this is functional; not much to walk. Updated 05/08/2016: The backlight of the watch stops working and the HRM starts to become unstable: once the monitor got stuck at 33 bpm and another time I had abnormally high readings (190-200 bpm) when I could manually measure 120 beats per minute. . It was mostly reliable but the rating went down from 4 stars to 3.
