Review on 🖨️ Brother MFC-J995DW INKvestmentTank: Color Inkjet All-in-One Printer with Mobile Device, Duplex Printing, and 1-Year Ink Supply by Nick Cleary

Advantages: Cheap operation for an inkjet printer. So far I've printed 175 pages and only used about 10% of the ink. I like the tank method better than the bottle method. Fast, quiet and very smooth operation. Lots of different connection methods: WPS, WPS with PIN, SSID/password (the method I used), Ethernet or USB (yes, this can also be a shared printer if you don't want it on your network). Brother iPrint and iScan Either on your computer or on your iPhone. It's great when you have documents that need to be printed now and your computers are off. Just touch your iPhone anywhere in the house and you've got them instantly - love it! Naturally, if on a computer, you can print directly from your programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Poster printing, yes, it's great to print huge documents from Word or Excel; But what's really nice is the ability to print huge maps in 4K JPEG format. Now I can get huge detailed maps that are crisp. Maybe it's better than sliced bread. Print quality, sharpness is about 97% of a laser printer. Color prints, whether plain paper or photo, are excellent. Black ink on documents is excellent, rich and dark; just a little bit better than a laser. The bypass printing for envelopes or photo paper works great, of course you can also use the tray for that. Scanning works very well and if you need to adjust the scan quality, you can do that too. This is not my main scanner, I use the Fujitsu ScanSnap for it. The Brother scanner can scan books etc. which the ScanSnap cannot. Drawbacks or caveats: Installing Windows 10: Disabling (temporarily) the Windows 10 firewall (private network) is a requirement when installing from a CD. Otherwise it may not install OR install incorrectly. If installing from the internet, do you also need to disable the internet gateway firewall on the network if installing directly from the Brother website? Brother support by phone or email is not helpful. If you're having trouble from day one, call Revain direct and "they can" put you in touch with Brother Support, who can solve your problem. Brothers "ControlCenter4" is mostly completely useless and severely outdated. . Example: When trying to print photos, the cropping options are very limited. It's almost impossible to do true cropping and/or aspect ratio cropping. The default and free Windows 10 photo editor easily solves this problem. Then use Brother iPrint to print your photos (with photo quality settings) and it works great. If you tried to "install" several times and it didn't work properly because you couldn't "disable" the firewall(s), then the Brother uninstaller on the CD may not work. You must also use the Windows Control Panel, to uninstall the remaining applicable software assigned to this printer. You will then need to (again) go to the Control Panel for your "Printer Lists" and "Remove Devices" for all items related to that printer. You don't need to remove the printer from your network (it might still be listed as a network device if your WiFi is still connected to it). Many Spectrum WiFi routers don't support WPS or WPS with PIN correctly, so I used an SSID/password that worked great as a network printer from day one. You can use the "WLAN Wizard" on the printer's touch screen to do this very easily. The wizard also rolled out about 20 Wi-Fi in my area, about 8 more than my iPhone! There is also a Brother uninstaller that can be downloaded for this printer; However, this printer will NOT appear in this program's drop-down list. Maybe someday Brother will update this software for "this" printer? 4.75 Stars - In my opinion this is a good printer. How will it be in 10 years?
