Review on EZDIY-FAB Vertical Graphics Card Holder Bracket with ARGB 5V 3Pin LED - Black: Enhance GPU Mounting and Showcase Your Video Card with PCIE3.0 Riser Cable Support! by Chris Quinto

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No instructions but the product is good

In my case, the Metallic Gear Neo Cube didn't come with a vertical GPU mount. There is also no room in the case to mount a GPU vertically. While there is a lot of space in the case in many ways and in many places, the distance from the motherboard to the glass pane is somewhat cramped. I had a hard time getting a CPU cooler and fan for the Ryzen 5 CPU I built for it. Turns out the 120mm fans and the Noctua cooler I wanted and a few other coolers that might work were too big to fit in. The distance from the top of the processor to the glass panel is not accurately measured. Also, not all coolers measure temperature the same way. It turns out that some don't include the copper plate and/or heatpipes in the overall height of the cooler. After trying many combinations, it turned out that putting 3 92mm fans on top of a Noctua 92mm dual tower cooler is best. This keeps this processor reasonably cool, even with the overclock I was able to get (luckily I apparently won a small silicon lottery jackpot and got an above-average chip since I can go to 4.6GHz, which is plenty. It's not 100% stable, but 4.4GHz is rock solid.) Anyway, my point is that the case is a bit cramped in certain dimensions. A series of these vertical GPU brackets push the GPU card towards the side panel. I spent too much time moving the card a little further to the right so it clears half the height of the PCIE card that would be behind the GPU as I couldn't move the GPU further from the motherboard and that was it hitting the other card, which is too much for me. It turned out to be MUCH easier than I did. It would be easier to see what I need to do to position it correctly if I actually tried to install it, but the instructions were a bit unclear. The charts were small and of little help. As I started arranging everything I realized I could lower the mount down one step on the mounting plate and it worked. He erased the small card behind the GPU and the distance closest to the glass pane is 1/4 inch. The fans are over 1/2 inch from the glass and everything cools well. Now RGB has given me a little problem. When I plugged it into the motherboard RGB header, it flickered and changed color every few seconds. When I synced it up with the rest of the RGB, it picked up and made any necessary changes and patterns. But every few seconds, strange colors would flicker and flash. I assume this is the result of the rest of the RGB on my system. I changed the connector location and hooked it up to the RGB controller on the back of the system and everything is fine now. Well, with slightly better instructions, and without heeding Mr. Scott's warning about over-plumbing, I could have installed it in 10 minutes and you'd be fine. So I'm giving 5 stars as the instructions don't make much of a difference in the overall layout.

Pros
  • With movable arm, more flexible to use the internal space of the PC case. A NOTICE. Make sure you have enough space in your case
Cons
  • Not sure
