Review on ๐Ÿงญ Silva Expedition S Compass with Night-Enabling Luminous Markings: Ultimate Aid for Navigation, Hiking, Trekking, and Hunting by Greg Greiner

Silva sacrifices quality for profit.

I cannot confirm the accuracy of the compass, I have never used it for navigation and sent it back immediately. This compass does not have luminous markings as advertised. A very faint glow-in-the-dark color is applied, but far from luminous. The target hole is awfully small. The cardinal points are marked yellow in yellow, depending on the situation a bit difficult to read. The mirror was blurry, almost gray instead of a bright mirrored surface. Overall very bad quality. The packaging says "designed in Sweden" but it's made in China. My Silva Ranger had a terribly large blister after the warranty expired and I bought this model as a replacement. Despite the short life of a ranger, I was willing to try Silva again. After seeing the quality of Expedition I bought my latest Silva product. There are too many other quality options.

Pros
  • WEIGHT LACE, 2 scales, soft and flexible, easy to place directly on the route on the map.
Cons
  • The list will be long.
