I have a cabinet-like built-in corner in my home office and wanted a better display for my 27-inch Dell UltraSharp U2717D monitor. Instead, I couldn't tuck my closed laptop back under the monitor or external keyboard. The mounting surface looks like veneered plywood and I drilled a 3/8 inch hole in the back against the wall and on one side. The grommet mount worked great in this position. I don't monitor my arm monitor often, but I can if I have to. It took a few turns to build up enough tension to hold the monitor in place, but it wasn't difficult at all to factory stand. It slides out towards you a bit further than I thought which is awesome! My closet corner is about 22 inches deep, and even though the base is attached all the way to the back, it still has enough room to pop out a bit and allow me to rotate the monitor slightly into portrait mode to fit your face. tilt left or right or equivalent. This will probably work well for a standing desk. For a standard installation in a commercial office, one person should be able to complete the installation on their own fairly quickly. Mine was more complex and a bit difficult to get to the back of the table where it was set but I have long arms and managed.
