Review on Pacsafe Camsafe Anti Theft Cross Body Green by Mary Reed

Family is on a long trip to Europe and I was hoping for something safer than my current Lowe Sling. Well, this bag is more secure, but it's not really a great camera bag. I played around with different uses and carried it around with me for a couple of weeks. My thoughts: PRO: 1. The bag looks very well made. The fit and finish was very good, no protruding threads and great attention to detail. All zippers were smooth and easy to open and close.2. The bag was comfortable to wear.3. The security features match the description, and it's hard to see how a random thief could escape or put their hand inside before you knew. The zippers were clear and easy to open and close even in a hurry. The ability to carry around a small laptop or tablet is a plus, and my Note Pro has enough space to add my Kindle.CON:1. The main compartment of the bag has a very small opening, making it difficult to load and unload gear. While I suspect this was another desired security feature, I quickly found that trying to quickly get my camera out was annoying. Another disadvantage of the small opening was the organization of the gears. Unlike the Lowe, it doesn't extend across two sides of the bag, so you only have one side open to access the stowed gear. While I could slip the lenses into a pocket, removal often required moving the velcro walls to get at the lens I wanted. Finally, if you're like me and want to travel with multiple lenses instead of just one or two, bag size again limits what you can fit.3. Finally, the biggest hurdle for me was that the bag couldn't easily hold my Canon 5D with the handle attached. I had to remove the grip, which meant I had to use one of the valuable grip storage slots available to utilize the space I had used for the lens. There is also the obvious problem of having to put it back on to take a picture and then take it off again for storage. In general, someone with less equipment or a smaller SLR would probably find the things that bother me unacceptable. But when I go on a dream vacation, I don't want to stop there; I want to be able to use gear I'm familiar with to capture shots I know will be there. While I would certainly consider PacSafe products in the future, this bag has been back at Revain for a few weeks.
