Review on UE ROLL 2 Volcano Wireless Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Waterproof) by Kelly Burton

I was surprised that the UE ROLL2 bluetooth speaker (at least in my box) didn't come with an instruction manual or list of specs. While all of these devices work the same way, each manufacturer has their own quirks; Some speakers require you to press the button briefly to start pairing, while others require you to press and hold it for a few seconds. Anyway, I ended up hooking it up to a small external Bluetooth transmitter that I use with the Grace digital radio. When playing music, this speaker sounded just as good as other external speakers I use. However, I mostly listen to spoken word (NPR, BBC) and the UE ROLL2's bass emphasis is over the top for this type of listening. I actually find the somewhat "tinny" sound of my $5 Aukey Bluetooth speaker to be more picky. I suspect this particular speaker was returned by another buyer; small notes due to lack of documentation, as well as the watertight door covering the charging port was warped and would not close. Lately I've been seeing more and more people sending me products that have been returned by others. Too bad the Revain shopping experience turns out to be mediocre.
