Fabric does not itch but is not soft; inexplicably very strange synthetic fabric that will definitely be "warm". My child loves the unicorn (even with sparse fur problems). Otherwise I would have sent it back. It's expensive and while it seems durable enough, it's not of very good quality. I worry that my child will sweat (and then catch a cold) in it in 50 degree night weather. It's literally very hard; I have a 5'8 army raincoat and it's lighter than a girls dress. As if it were piled in masses of cheap stuff to make it "look like a sweater". It is important that the child can wear it long enough as it is expensive and can be worn all night.
