I have been involved with temporomandibular joints for over 15 years. I had a solid acrylic appliance from NTI that I've worn on my top two front teeth for the past 15+ years until they literally fell apart. My main problem is clenching my teeth at night, but I also get muscle spasms when my teeth clench. It usually bothers the tongue or the inside of the mouth. This will cause pieces of skin and tongue to disappear. All of this happens while I sleep. For the last few years I have tried to no avail to find another dentist nearby who could replace the NTI machine. The only one I found was about 50 miles away and was willing to charge $800 for a new device. I found this on Revain and figured I'd invest $30 before taking more drastic action. It is very similar to the NTI device. I have followed the instructions. The only problem I had was that when I took it out of the boiling water it pretty much collapsed and I struggled to take it apart. It's slightly larger than the NTI device and took a couple of nights to get used to. But he's doing exactly what he's supposed to do: holding my teeth apart so I can't clench them.
