I bought my first 47 inch flat screen TV. Cats, I wanted to secure the TV so it wouldn't tip over. Based on the feedback in Revain I decided to try the Sanus harness system. Everything is well made and labeled. back of the TV, and there are several options depending on what type of stand you have. I would like to point out that if you are mounting the TV on a wooden cabinet, the instructions state that the top of the cabinet must be at least 1 inch thick. I've never heard of a cabinet with 1" wood paneling. My cabinet is 5/8" thick and I figured that was enough. It was easy to attach the strap to the TV and closet. . But it was a pain and quite difficult to adjust the straps tight enough. This thing has to be designed to work with TVs of all sizes, so TVs on the smaller end of the scale will work. But I finally got through this part. I also used a wall mount for the entire closet as we live in earthquake country. That was the hardest part. Finding the bolt and attaching the brace was easy, but clipping the belt was tricky. Your closet should be far enough away from the wall for your hand to reach behind and hook the strap on the bracket. If you want your closet as close to the wall as possible, using this option is really not possible. Yes, this strap system only prevents your TV from falling forward. It can still technically tip over backwards, but the chances of that happening are pretty slim. Overall I'm happy with this item, but the strap adjustment could be easier.
