Incorrect instructions - product is useless if assembled incorrectly

These shelves have a defect which is why they are so cheap. There are 3 poles on each of the 4 legs that need to be connected. Unlike other similar devices, these poles are NOT identical and do NOT bolt together. they are plugged in and snapped into place. Once assembled, they cannot be disassembled. The instructions say there are bottom bars and "top" bars. However, there are lower, middle and upper poles. The bottom bars are easy to tell apart - they have screws for the legs. If the legs are assembled with all the middle bars in the middle and the top bars on top, the shelves will align properly. You got lucky! Unfortunately, if, like me, you have built one (or more) legs with the center stand on top and the top in the middle, then the shelf alignment will be out of whack and you won't be able to get the shelves to sit. To the right. I have an entire leg - low/middle/upper braces - that needs replacing because I can't take it apart and put it in the right order. If MFG sends me a new set of supports, I will change my customer service rate. But it is definitely a product BE CAREFUL FOR THE BUYER. This is a HUGE manufacturing defect, but if the instructions were written correctly this would not have caused the problem. Update 07/07/20: I ordered two of these and am just trying to assemble the second one. I knew what to look out for so I figured I was safe! I opened up 3 rod packs and carefully assembled each of the 4 legs, taking a bottom rod, one from the middle rods (no screws on the bottom, no caps on the top) and one from the top rods. On to the shelves. everything goes fine until you try to put a shelf in the middle. I had the exact same problem! What? On closer inspection I found. One of the "middle" bars (it must have been in a 4 pack) was actually the top bar. So I ran into the exact same problem! MY GOD! Also, one of the shelves was dented so it couldn't be used. I was able to use the remaining 6 legs and 7 shelves to create a double width shelf. I posted a photo of the problem with the bars. In the first photo there is a crumpled shelf, in the second the arrows indicate the place where the middle bars are inserted into the floor. The distance is different because one is in the middle and the other is on top. The third photo shows the effect of trying to arrange the shelves. I know it's hard to tell, but since the spacing at the bottom of the posts is different for the top and middle posts, the alignment is shifted 1/2 inch. You just can't let the shelf sit properly. I have already contacted the seller about the problem with the first leg. They responded quickly and after my explanation stated that they sent a set of lower/middle/upper shelves for the first block. I will reply again with new questions. Let people know yours. But I'd say save yourself the headache: even if you carefully inspect the racks before assembling them, you still may not get a matching 'kit' - apparently even the manufacturer's staff were confused!
