Useful for treating flat surfaces

Before I start reviewing this pillow, I just want to say that I am not including product safety in my review. We should all be aware that the AAP does not consider these pillows safe for babies to sleep on. Like me, you have to make your own decision as to whether or not to use a pillow for your child. I ordered this pillow primarily for bedtime for my 3 month old who like many other babies has developed a flat spot. who spend so much time on their backs. He clearly prefers to look to the right. I use a tortoiseshell hat for nighttime sleep as I feel it is less likely to suffocate, although it has other disadvantages. I've only been using it for a few days, but so far I'm really enjoying it. My son fell asleep very easily the first time and I noticed he was looking both ways, even to the left! He can still turn slightly to the right when using it, but not all the way to the right as he will sleep if left to his own devices. It's very soft. I also pressed my face really tight against him and I could breathe through him. I watch my son like a hawk when he starts rolling and I will stop using him immediately. I keep the monitor close by while I sleep. Overall I'm very happy with it - I haven't tried other pillows but I think it will be more effective than pillows with small holes in getting the baby to shake.
