I bought this scratching post 4 years ago. It has held up well and my two cats loved it. The rope on the racks unraveled so I bought a new one. The price has gone up a bit, but the quality has gone down. The box came with a big gap and when I dragged it inside the latches fell out. I had to reuse a few screws and one of the old racks. That's when I noticed that the bolts were much smaller and no longer made of stainless steel. Also, the rope used now is much thinner. There's no way it's going to take four years. It will most likely need to be replaced in a year or two. Do your cats and yourself a favor and spend a little more for something better.
