I have a very noisy old toilet seat that banged every time it was closed and has been discontinued so I can't buy a new soft closing version. The sound of the old slamming of the seat is gone because now I just hold that little 'strap' and carefully tighten it every time! This is the main reason I bought it because I thought it might work and it did! I also have the advantage of not having to touch the seat when raising or closing it. In my opinion, this little device beats the sticky guys that reviews say come off so easily, and they're so cheap. too much of! I have a brand new toilet in another bathroom with a quiet and cramped seat, but I put it in for hygiene reasons and I don't have to worry about those little straps coming loose on their own. I'm surprised. it gets no reviews! And if you don't have a quiet, cramped seat, this little strap can turn your noisy seat into a quiet, cramped seat for a fraction of the price of a new one!
