It does the job, I bought it to replace the plastic which broke after 2 years of daily use. I didn't realize it was rubber which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's a bit more durable and doesn't get brittle like plastic. It's only been a day so I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I prefer the feel of mounting my phone in a plastic mount. There was a moment of secure phone fixation with the plastic, this rubber one is much softer and there is no feedback and it feels like you've missed the mount. Although I most likely just need time to get used to it. The mount works, it took some effort to attach to my faux wood dashboard, but after some pushing and leaving overnight it seems secure enough.
